Qinghefang Ancient Street

A few hundred meters from the West Lake, you can find the  Qinghefang Ancient Street in a 13-hectare area. It is the last classical-style area in downtown Hangzhou, with its own distinct cultural features, including Chinese medicine, tea, local snacks, antiques, folk customs and cultural relics. 

Its Hu Qing Yu Tang (herbal pharmacy from the late Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911), Qiantang’s first well, the residence of Yuqian (well-known official and national hearo of the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644), residence of Hu Xueyan (one of the richest businessmen of the Qing) are all on the national cultural relics list. 

The street is home to 374 so it functions as a place for tourism, shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure activities, and as a showcase of the city’s humanity and business sense. It is also honored as a “Chinese Folk Culture Street”, “National Famous Commercial Street”, “National AAAA Scenic Spot”, “National Demonstration Street without Counterfeit Goods”, “Provincial Civilized Scenic Spot” and “Street for China’s Time-honored Brands”.
