A retrospective exhibition of Chinese animation is taking place at Jiaxing Museum in Zhejiang province, until Oct 16.
The exhibition follows the timeline of Chinese animation from its humble beginnings, through many developments and styles such as ink and wash paintings, puppetry, shadow figures, and paper-cut works.
As well as providing historical documentation and interesting exhibits, the museum hopes that visitors, particularly younger ones, will develop an interest in traditional art forms.
Divided into four parts, the exhibition will detail the history of animation and its development, its different art forms, traditional cultural elements, as well as many influential Chinese artists.
The museum will also screen 18 classic animations around the exhibition hall. Activities such as making animated images from polymer clay and costume play will also be held.
