The third Xixi Film Forum, gathering more than 200 guests from the film industry to discuss the next golden decade in film development, took place in Hangzhou on Dec 21.
The forum witnessed successful signing of film projects, prize presentations, new film releases and several summits centered on development trends, investment and cooperation, and the application of big data and Internet Plus. Exchanges between film producers, directors, film critics, and investors, as well as actors and actresses, were arranged in different sessions throughout the day.
Nine films gave wonderful promotion roadshows at the forum to win venture capital investment. After several rounds of questions and answers, a film about Zhejiang villagers fighting against "wokou" (Japanese pirates) and an animation telling the story of Prince Lanling stood out.
Zhejiang-based film companies got important agreements at the signing session. Strategic partnerships were established between Zhejiang companies and film-related websites and famed studios, and international cooperation in Zhejiang's film industry became more vibrant. For example, Haining Aoya Media launched a cooperative project with an American company at the forum.
Zhejiang province made some contribution to highly-praised films in recent years like "Monster Hunt" and "Monkey King: Hero is Back", which shows its rising position in the country's film industry. It is believed the province will shine brightly in the film market over the next ten years.
