Memorial for Yu the Great held in Shaoxing
A memorial ceremony paying tribute to Yu the Great is held in Shaoxing, East China's Zhejiang province on April 20. Yu the Great, or Da You, was a legendary ruler in ancient China famed for his introduction of flood control, inaugurating dynastic rule by establishing the Xia Dynasty (c.21st century – 16th century BC), and for his upright moral character.
