Addressing the opening ceremony, Zhou Jiangyong, Party secretary of Hangzhou, extended a warm welcome to guests from across the world, and said that he believes the festival can not only offer the chance to savor different cuisines, but offer a feast of Asian culture.

It is the largest, most diverse and extensive food event that has ever taken place in Hangzhou.

In recent years, the cuisine cultural exchanges between Hangzhou and the rest of the world have become more frequent. The "Taste of Hangzhou" Asian Cuisine Festival will serve as a bridge to promote Chinese culinary culture and advance dialogues among different civilizations.
