Painting and calligraphy works from Zhejiang on exhibit in Taipei

A painting and calligraphy exhibition of works by Jie Yuan, or Yang Wenke, an artist from East China's Zhejiang province, opened in Taipei on June 10 as part of the 2019 Taiwan-Zhejiang Cultural Festival.
With a focus on "light", the exhibition showcases the achievements Zhejiang has made since the establishment of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago. The exhibits are considered reflections of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, the construction of beautiful villages, ecological restoration and the combined development of culture and tourism in Zhejiang.
Over the course of his 20-year career, Yang has cultivated a unique painting and writing style demonstrating the aesthetic of the East which has earned him a strong reputation around the world. He is now the director of the Huzhou Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
