A summit aimed at deepening the cross-Straits relations took place in the Dongtou district of Wenzhou, in Zhejiang province, on June 28.

More than 800 people from the business and politics sectors of Chinese mainland and Taiwan participated in the activities and exchanged ideas on economic and cultural development. At the opening ceremony, cooperation agreements on eight projects involving high technology and new technology, advanced manufacturing and modern services were signed.

Wang Jiaohu, Party chief of Dongtou, extended warm invitation for Taiwan compatriots to study, work and live in the district and said he expected development opportunities to be shared with Taiwan people.

Dongtou and Taiwan have seen increasing exchanges and cooperation in recent years due to the two regions' geographical proximity and similar cultural roots, which has yielded positive results.
