Fishermen in the Fuyang district of Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province, dusted off their rods and nets and got busy as the fishing season kicked off on the Fuchun River on July 1.
Dongziguan village, with its ideal location for both waterborne and land transport, is a main hub for traditional fishing. With a history spanning more than 1,000 years, it has always been a trading center on the south banks of the Fuchun River.
With the more and more beautiful village being restored and created in rural Zhejiang, Dongziguan, based on its prosperous fishing industry, has put itself on the path of new development with tourism at its core. Every fishing season, tourists stream to the time-honored village to celebrate the harvest and savor the scenery in Jiangnan, the region south of the Yangtze River.
