Yang Xiangjun, a young carpenter in Lishui, Zhejiang province who is dedicated to crafting innovative pieces made of wood, operates a homestay which is a tribute to his craft, in the city's Guyanhuaxiang -- literally meaning "ancient weir and painting town" -- an idyllic town in the district which features Chinese-style buildings and unblemished natural landscape.
The beds, ladders, lamp fittings and wall decorations in the homestay were all made by Yang from wood. His skill in designing and creating woodwork has been given full play there, making every corner of the homestay a temple to the aesthetics of wood.
Guests are able to admire the woodwork and learn the craft and skills from Yang as well.
