Global photographers invited to snap pictures of Zhejiang

An activity that invites international photographers to come and capture Zhejiang's beautiful scenery and profound culture with their pictures recently opened in Hangzhou, capital of the province.
"Zhejiang boasts a rich variety of tourism resources and is working vigorously to build itself into one of China's top tourist destinations," said Xu Peng, deputy director of the provincial department of culture and tourism at the opening ceremony.
"The activity is designed to promote Zhejiang to tourists around the world through the lens of professional international photographers," Xu added.
More than 20 photographers – who specialize in taking photos of scenery, people, architecture and other subjects – are involved in the activity.
Organizers said they will be divided into four groups, to visit the province's 11 cities.
The photographers visited the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City in Hangzhou after the opening ceremony before embarking on the photography trek.
