The fifth Zhejiang Book Exhibition, an annual cultural event in Zhejiang province, will be held in Ningbo from Oct 17 to 20, according to an announcement made by the provincial government on Oct 10.

More than 500 publishers from within the province and around the country will attend the event, bringing with them over 60,000 types of books, organizers said. 

A number of new books will be released, and many famous Chinese writers will interact with readers during the event.

In addition to the main venue in Ningbo, which features 18 exhibition halls and will hold more than 50 activities, there will also be more than 300 activities held in 101 bookstores throughout the province, including lectures, writer-reader meetings and book release meetings.

Shandong province was selected as the guest of honor. Twelve publishers from the province will attend the exhibition bringing nearly 2,000 books.
