The Zhejiang government also sent letters to the governments of South Korea and its Jeollanam-do province, as well as the government of Shizuoka prefecture in Japan, expressing its willingness to help.
Zhejiang is close to Japan and South Korea in proximity and has a close relationship with the two countries, especially with Jeollanam-do and Shizuoka.
The two regions also donated many medical supplies to Zhejiang in the early days of the epidemic.
