Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province has been seeking to develop itself into a global manufacturing hub.
Incentives have been provided by the local government to encourage leading local companies like Jack Holding Group Co Ltd and Zhejiang Geely Holding Group to attract supporting enterprises in their respective industrial chains.
Earlier this year, a high-end sewing equipment manufacturing base funded by Jack Holding Group was put into operation in Taizhou.
Ruan Fude, president of the company, revealed that the project's second phase is undergoing preparations, and the company plans to bring in 20 enterprises to produce core functional components.
The move comes after local authorities called for the formation of a complete industrial chain.
Taizhou now is home to world-class industrial clusters, particularly in the automobile and pharmaceutical industries. In 2019, the output of the city's automobile industry exceeded 100 billion yuan ($14.49 billion).
By the end of 2020, the city aims to have 60 listed enterprises and 4,400 enterprises above the designated size. It also aims to foster more than 250 national-level high-tech companies and over 1,000 provincial technological enterprises throughout the year.
By 2030, the city aims to have four world-leading industrial clusters in the automotive, medical and health care, high-end mold, and intelligent sewing equipment sectors.
It will house five State-level advanced industrial clusters, including pumps and motors, aerospace, smart homes, electronic information and high-end equipment.
