Hangzhou honored for best practices in trade in services

Two practices adopted by Hangzhou, the capital of East China's Zhejiang province, were listed by the inter-ministry conference office for trade in services at the State Council as among China's top 20 such practices, according to a result recently released by the office.

The "online exhibition and trade" mode was one of the two practices. The new mode was developed in a bid to solve the information gap between traders.

It uses digital and supply chain technologies to provide matchmaking services between buyers and sellers. It also supports multi-language translation and provides one-stop services for traders throughout all trade procedures.

The China (Poland) International Digital Trade Expo, which opened in Hangzhou April 30, was an example of the use of the new mode. By May 5, the online exhibition had attracted 1,007 companies to display 10,675 products, generating $3.58 million in intended turnover.

The other practice is an attempt by Hangzhou to solve difficulties in returning goods. Hangzhou has set up a public warehouse in its comprehensive bonded area to allow returned goods to enter the public warehouse directly, thus improving the efficiency of returning goods, decreasing costs for companies and increasing convenience for customers.
