Wuzhen Academicians House inaugurated
The Wuzhen Academicians House in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, was officially inaugurated on May 17, local media reported.
Eighteen academicians were recruited by the house, including three academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, nine from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and six academicians from Japan and the United Kingdom.
During the inauguration ceremony a tour of Jiaxing by these academicians was launched. It was organized by the China Federation of Industrial Economics, the talent office of Jiaxing Municipal Party Committee, Jiaxing Association for Science And Technology, and the Tongxiang government.
The plan was for these academicians to inspect local universities, companies, and industrial platforms.
Wuzhen Academicians House is a pilot project of Zhejiang Academicians House, a platform created by the province to introduce heavyweight talents and promote industrial upgrading and the high quality development of the regional economy.
Since its trial operation in 2018, Wuzhen Academicians House has organized more than 150 academicians from home and abroad to visit Tongxiang on 15 occasions and introduced 15 projects with the help of the CAS's Shanghai branch and Pudong Academician Center. The house also established a Yangtze River Delta Academicians Advisory Committee in 2019, which includes 40 academicians.
