Zhejiang province has been improving public services related to transportation, tourism attractions, shopping malls, hospitals, and more.

Six taxi lanes at the Hangzhou East Railway Station have been upgraded, displaying how many cars are available and how many passengers are waiting via an electronic screen, thereby avoiding long queues and enhancing the efficiency of taxi services.

"We received many complaints from the public about long wait times for taxis at the station. We think it will undermine people's impressions of Hangzhou," said an official from Jianggan district, Hangzhou.

The railway station solicited 520 opinions from the public last year and took 45 measures to improve its services.

Provincial authorities recently made a plan to further improve public services, which will soon be implemented throughout the province.

The province aims to make it easier for the public to access public services, and plans to make services more intelligent and personalized. It also aims to significantly increase public satisfaction toward public services by the end of this year, and hopes that its public services become among the best in China by 2022 before the Asian Games take place in Hangzhou.

The Root Palace Buddhist Cultural Tourism Zone, a 5A-level scenic area in Kaihua county, Quzhou, has launched a direct bus route with the local bus station and railway station to make it easier for tourists to travel there.

The scenic area received 1.28 million tourists in 2019, an increase of 27.71 percent year-on-year.

Zhejiang has been using digital technology to improve public services. For example, it uses robots to offer AI services in public areas and shares information about public parking lots online.

The province has also improved services for specific groups. For example, the Hangzhou East Railway Station has improved its accessible elevators so that disabled people can take the elevators from the departure floor.
