The Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Alliance in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) was inaugurated in Jiashan, a county in Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, at the Zhejiang Entrepreneurs' Hometown Trip to Jiashan event on June 16, Jiaxing Daily reported.
Launched by the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai and six other chambers of commerce, the alliance will be managed by the alliance leadership along with the chambers of commerce and Zhejiang entrepreneurs.
The alliance will serve Zhejiang entrepreneurs as well as the province by combining the strengths, intelligence and resources of various Zhejiang entrepreneurs outside the province and exploring ways for them to participate in the integrated development of the YRD region.
During the inauguration ceremony, Jiashan secured 17 projects worth 23 billion yuan ($3.25 billion), and the Jiashan County Government also signed strategic cooperation agreements with five institutions in a bid to pursue high quality development.
The five institutions included the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Zhejiang Entrepreneurs Alliance in the Yangtze River Delta, the Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Wuchan Zhongda Group, Shanghai JuneYao World Foreign Language Education, and Cybernaut Investment Group.
The Zhejiang Entrepreneurs' Hometown Trip to Jiashan event was attended by more than 200 Zhejiang entrepreneurs and chairmans of various Zhejiang chambers of commerce.
As a host city, Jiashan posted a 0.5 percent increase in GDP in the first quarter of this year, ranking first in Jiaxing and seventh provincewide.
The figure also put the county ahead of two other districts – Qingpu in Shanghai and Wujiang in Suzhou, which were selected as the demonstration areas for the integrated ecological development of the YRD region in 2019.
