Hangzhou tops Zhejiang in small and micro enterprises' growth

The growth index for small and micro enterprises in Hangzhou closed at 133.11 points in 2019, a year-on-year increase of 5.74 percent, according to a report measuring the growth of small and micro enterprises in East China's Zhejiang province recently released by the provincial market regulation bureau.
Hangzhou topped the list, followed by the cities of Jinhua and Ningbo in Zhejiang province.
The growth index for small and micro enterprises in Zhejiang is a dynamic indicator for the survival conditions and development trends of enterprises. The research was carried out based on 22,000 data samples and data provided by market regulators at all levels in the province.
The index for digital economy enterprises remained robust, closing at 138 points, a year-on-year increase of 2.53 percent.
The growth index for enterprises in the creative industry ranked second among the province's eight major industries, closing at 136.34, a year-on-year increase of 5.05 percent.
The growth index for enterprises in high-level equipment manufacturing closed at 136.15, a year-on-year increase of 2.51 percent.
The index report has been released annually since 2014, with this year's report assessing the performance of more than 2.2 million small and micro enterprises in Zhejiang.
Owing to the province's strong efforts to improve its business climate, the number of the province's small and micro enterprises increased to 2.22 million by the end of last year, accounting for 87.7 percent of all enterprises in Zhejiang.
The ranking of the top 30 districts or counties in Zhejiang in terms of the growth of small and micro enterprises was also included in the report, with five counties and districts appearing on the list.
