The Zhejiang government has been improving services for private companies, especially small and micro-sized companies and individual businesses, in recent years to boost the local private economy.

The government has released a number of measures since the beginning of this year to help private companies survive the COVID-19 epidemic, including offering subsidies, according to the provincial market supervision bureau.

The government has also arranged for personnel to visit the companies and see if they are experiencing any difficulties in operation, trade and management.

According to the provincial federation of industry and commerce, Zhejiang authorities have visited 10,368 companies this year and conducted five online questionnaire surveys for more than 15,000 companies. They have solved 193 problems for them.

The federation has encouraged 721 leading local companies to help small and micro-sized companies, visited 19,585 companies along with several financial institutions to address their financial problems, and helped them receive funds worth 161.3 billion yuan ($22.84 billion). The federation has also helped 85,786 companies solve 10,250 disputes, together with the provincial justice department and lawyers' association.
