China (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone cleared its first business to business (B2B) cross-border e-commerce export on July 1.
"Thanks to the officers from the comprehensive pilot zone, Qianjiang, and Xiaoshan Airport Customs, we had the privilege to be the first company to enjoy the new policy," said Yao Jie, chairman of Wuchan Ancheng, a joint venture between the Fortune Global 500 Wuchan Zhongda Group and Hangzhou Airport Bonded Investment Co.
Wuchan Ancheng exported a batch of cotton cloth worth 7,895 yuan ($1,117.14) to Bangladesh on the morning of July 1. The goods were exported using the new clearance model (code 9710) and transported by air from Xiaoshan International Airport.
The successful clearance marked the first B2B cross-border e-commerce export from Hangzhou Customs and will help Hangzhou-based enterprises expand sales channels in overseas markets.
The new export model is based on the No.75 notice from the General Administration of Customs. Ten cities including Hangzhou will test out the nation's B2B cross-border e-commerce export using two clearance models - 9710 and 9810.
The former is aimed at domestic exporters who have sealed deals with overseas counterparts and need to ship goods directly through cross-border logistics. The latter is aimed at domestics exporters who have already stored goods in overseas warehouses and plan to deliver after the deals are sealed.
