If you are a nature lover interested in life sciences, geography, and biological specimens, the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History is a can't-miss stop on your tour of Zhejiang. Different from museums of history and culture, the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History unveils the natural part of the province's development by presenting the mysteries of life on earth, telling the stories of people and the environment.
With a permanent collection of nearly 150,000 specimens, the museum plays an active role in protecting natural heritage, popularizing science, conducting academic researches, and promoting cultural exchanges.
The exhibits including dinosaur eggs, marine reptile fossils, animal remains in cultural relics and marine organisms, concentrate on the essence of nature. In addition, several hundred samples such as dinosaurs in Jiangshan (Zhejiang province), pterosaurs in Zhejiang's Linhai, whale sharks, grey whales are considered the best specimens among their counterparts at home and abroad.
