The Zhejiang Hundred Years Watercolor Painting Exhibition got underway in Zhejiang Art Museum in the provincial capital of Hangzhou on Aug 5, and will last until Sept 3.

The high-profile exhibition features around 140 watercolor paintings created between 1905 and 2020 by top Chinese artists of historic significance such as Li Shutong, Lin Fengmian, Wu Dayu, Ni Yide, Wu Guanzhong, and Pan Sitong. The paintings' themes include scenery, still life, and figures.

The exhibition presents the birth and development of Chinese watercolor painting as well as its close ties to Zhejiang province, aiming to inspire today's watercolor painters.
