Industry park to revitalize minority rural areas opens in Jiaxing
The industry park to revitalize the ethnic minority rural areas in Yunhe county, Lishui, Zhejiang province was inaugurated in Jiaxing port area, Jiaxing, Zhejiang on Aug 19, local media outlets reported.
The industry park is the first in China dedicated to rural revitalization in ethnic minority areas.
Located in Hangzhou Bay New Economy Park, the industry park adjoins Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou. It is also close to Zhapu Port in Jiaxing.
With a designed area of 100 mu (6.67 hectares), the industry park will introduce high-tech companies involving electronic information, new materials, environmental protection, energy-saving technology, and internet plus, while also promoting the integration of Yunhe county into the Yangtze River Delta region.
Yunhe can receive a sum of money from the revenue of the industry park to develop its collective economy and increase the incomes of local farmers.
Jiaxing port area boasts advantages in industries and capital, while Yunhe possesses abundant farmland and surplus labor. Therefore, based on the industry park, the two sides will draw on each other's strengths to seek further development.
At the inauguration ceremony, Jiaxing port area agreed to establish a rural revitalization demonstration area in Anxi township. Jiaxing port area will offer guidance on industrial development, talent training, public service, and cultural development to transform the rural area.
Since June 2019, Jiaxing port area has been paired up with Yunhe county. In one year, the two places have cooperated in industry, education, healthcare, and rural revitalization, with Jiaxing port area investing more than 70 million yuan ($10.13 million) in Yunhe.
