Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, plans to spend nearly 1 trillion yuan ($144.6 billion) to carry out 30 major projects over the coming years.

These projects can be divided into the following categories: those that will commence in 2020, those that need to be completed by 2020, and those that need to be completed before the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Projects to start in 2020

1. Life sciences innovation program

The program includes the I-Mab Biopharma project and the project undertaken by Huadong Medicine Co.

2. Integrate circuits research program

The program includes chip research projects for 5G application conducted by Unisplendour Corporation Limited and the chip research project undertaken by Fuxin Semi.

3. City function improvement program

4. Advanced manufacturing improvement program

5. Transportation network upgrading program

6. Intelligence technology platform construction program

7. Future community constriction program

8. Renovation of old residential communities

9. The National Grand Canal Culture Park construction program

10. Railway and metro construction program

The program includes the Jinhua-Jiande Railway construction project (Hangzhou section), the second-phase project of the Hangzhou-Wenzhou railway construction project, the Hangzhou Metro Line 3 construction project and the Hangzhou-Fuyang railway project.

Projects to be completed in 2020

1. The metro line construction program

The program includes the third-phase project of Hangzhou Metro Line 1, the phase-one project of Hangzhou Metro Line 6 and the Hangzhou Metro Line 16.

2. The construction of the ring roads in West Hangzhou

3. Qiandao Lake-Yellow Mountain highway construction project (Chun'an section)

4. Jiande-Jinhua highway construction project (Jiande section)

5. Zhejiang Lab Park program

The program includes construction of the artificial intelligence research center and the network research institute.

6. Linjiang environment and energy engineering program

7. The Ferrotech semiconductor silicon wafer production project

8. The construction of the Tsinghua Tus Park

9. The construction of the Hangzhou Iron and Steel Clouding Center

10. The construction if the headquarters of Ant Finance

1. Metro Lines construction program

2. The upgrading project of the West Hangzhou Station

3. Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo highway upgrade project
