(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated : 2020-10-16

The inter-city railway linking Jinhua and Taizhou will add two more stops: Hengdian town in Jinhua and Tiantai county in Taizhou, according to its latest construction plan.

The railway, stretching for roughly 170 kilometers, is expected to cost about 29 billion yuan ($4.2 billion) and has a designed speed of up to 350 km/h.

After its opening, the travel time between Jinhua and Taizhou will be slashed to only 40 minutes. Currently, it takes 2.5 hours to travel from Taizhou to Jinhua via Wenzhou.

The inter-city rail comes as an integral part of the Taizhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Inter-city Railway. It will be connected with coastal high-speed railways and the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou High-speed Railway in the east, and connects with the Jinhua-Yiwu Intercity Railway and Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway in the west.

It will be the most convenient passenger line from Taizhou to the central and western parts of Zhejiang as well as remote areas.
