Test vessel delivered for world's first 100,000-tonnage aquaculture ship

Guoxin No 101, an intermediary test ship for Guoxin No 1, the world's first 100,000-tonnage aquaculture ship, was delivered to Qingdao Conson Group on Nov 6.
The ship was manufactured in the Fengye shipyard in Taizhou's Sanmen county.
With a gross tonnage of about 3,000 metric tons, the test ship will farm far-reaching marine fisheries including large yellow croakers and Atlantic salmon on a trial run basis.
The Guoxin No. 1 aquaculture ship is expected to be delivered in March 2022, with a deadweight of about 100,000 tons, a water body displacement of 80,000 cubic meters and a length of 249 meters.
The ship is being constructed by Qingdao Conson Group in partnership with China State Shipbuilding Co Ltd, the Pilot National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Taizhou Dachengdao Aquaculture Co Ltd and Qingdao Blue Granary Co Ltd.
