Taizhou's Tiantai county recently won the honorary title of "natural oxygen bar in China", becoming the first place in the city to win the honor.

The honor was conferred by the China Meteorological Administration. Recipients must have good air quality with a high negative oxygen ion concentration, healthy environment and pleasant climate, and well-developed facilities for tourism, leisure and health maintenance.

Official data shows that the forest coverage rate in Tiantai has reached 70.39 percent, and the number of days with good air quality in the county stands at 99.4 percent of the total.

The annual average concentration of negative oxygen ions, which have been said to improve people's moods, has reached 1,269 per cubic centimeter.

In the first half of this year, all days in the county had good air quality.

The water quality of all centralized drinking water sources in Tiantai has reached national standards.

The county ranked 28th among counties nationwide in2020 in terms of the quality of its natural environment, according to a recent report.
