A weather monitoring system for outdoor snow sports venues developed by a lab based in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has been put into use at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

Coaches are using the system to aid the decision-making process as it can precisely track weather changes.

The system developer is situated in the Deqing Geographical Information Small Town in Deqing county, Huzhou.

The town is an industrial park which houses 40-plus enterprises related to geographical information and many research organs that were co-built with universities.

As of December last year, Deqing was home to nearly 300 enterprises in geographical information, making it one of regions with the highest concentration of geographic information industry in China.

In November 2018, the United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress was held in the county.
