The BRICS Expert Meeting of Standardization on Solid-State Lighting was hosted on online and offline channels in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on July 14.

Representatives from standardization agencies and experts from BRICS countries gathered in Hangzhou to participate in the seminar.

As emerging market countries, BRICS nations face strong demands for lighting products. The trade volume of lighting products in China in 2021 was worth nearly $7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 48.9 percent.

During the meeting, representatives and experts discussed about the composition and operation mode of the BRICS solid-state lighting standardization working group, and putted forward suggestions on the next working plan of the group.

The four proposals of international standards for solid-state lighting put forward by enterprises from Zhejiang have received positive responses from participating experts, who also discussed ways to promote the creation of international standards.
