Zhejiang's 26 mountainous counties see rapid economic growth

The GDP of Zhejiang province's 26 mountainous counties was 343.2 billion yuan ($50.07 billion), an increase of 3.2 percent year-on-year, in the first half of 2022, according to recently released statistics from the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics.

The growth rate was 0.7 percentage points higher than that of the whole province.

In the first six months of 2022, investment in fixed assets in the 26 mountainous counties rose by 13.1 percent year-on-year, 2.8 percentage points higher than that of the whole province.

In addition, the R&D expenses of private enterprises above designated size rose 24.7 percent year-on-year, 4.3 percentage points higher than that of the whole province, and R&D expenses accounted for 2.7 percent of revenue.

Specifically, the per capita disposable income of all residents, urban and rural residents in the 26 mountainous counties was 23,997 yuan, 30,984 yuan, and 15,473 yuan, up 5.7 percent, 4.9 percent, and 6.8 percent year-on-year respectively.

Meanwhile, the per capita disposable income of low-income farmers was 8,564 yuan, an increase of 14.8 percent year-on-year.
