The 2022 National Symposium on Information Technology Application and Innovation and the First Integrated Circuit Industrial Innovation and Development Conference were held in Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province, on Nov 30.

The events were sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, Jinhua municipal people's government, and China Center for Information Industry Development.

The symposium invited various well-known academicians, experts, scholars, and representatives from related enterprises to discuss the integrated development of China's integrated circuit industry and information technology application and innovation.

The event also included sub-forums on independent innovation, integration of integrated circuit production and education and talent development.

Yang Xudong, deputy director of the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that as the industry authority, the department will continue to strengthen cooperation with relevant departments to jointly promote the high-quality development of the integrated circuit industry, continue to create a good development environment, and support the application and promotion of fine products.

Jinhua Mayor Xing Zhihong gave a briefing on the development of the information technology application and innovation industry in Jinhua. The city considers the information technology application and innovation industry key to the continued transformation of the manufacturing industry. It will continue to promote the industry's systematic and ecological development.

During the event, agreements for a total of nine projects with a total of 15 billion yuan ($2.12 billion) in investment were signed.
