Zhejiang's industrial economy above designated size continues to grow

According to the latest data released by the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics, Zhejiang's industrial economy maintained a stable overall trend in 2022, with the added value of industries above designated size in the province increasing by 4.2 percent over the previous year.

In 2022, the added value of 19 of the 38 industries increased over the previous year, while eight industries showed double-digit growth. Among them, pharmaceuticals, chemical raw materials, computer communication electronics, and automobiles increased by 16.2 percent, 14.7 percent, 14.6 percent and 13.7 percent, respectively, and their contribution rates to the growth in the added value of industries above designated size were 13.1 percent, 28.4 percent, 28.6 percent and 26.6 percent, respectively.

The data shows that the output value of new products of industries above designated size increased by 12.3 percent over the previous year. The added value of manufacturing industries in high-tech, digital economy, strategic emerging, equipment and high-tech industries increased by 11.5 percent, 10.7 percent, 10.0 percent, 6.2 percent and 5.9 percent, respectively, driving the added value of industries above designated size to increase by 1.9, 1.7, 3.1, 2.8 and 3.9 percentage points, respectively.

In addition, the added value of private enterprises in Zhejiang in 2022 increased by 5.2 percent over the previous year, driving the increase of industrial added value above designated size by 3.5 percentage points, with a contribution rate of 83.2 percent.
