Established in 2002, Quzhou College of Technology (QCT) is a full-time public higher vocational school, authorized by Zhejiang government. The school aims to train talents with technical skills in the fields of manufacturing, construction, management and service.

The school covers an area of 387 mu (258,000 square meters). The total value of fixed assets reached 399.37 million yuan ($57.9 million), with over 78.82 million yuan ($11.4 million) of teaching equipment and a collection of 530,000 books.

QCT consists of six departments, namely College of Medical, College of Art and Design, College of Economics and Management, College of Information Engineering, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and College of Continuing Education. It offers 20 higher vocational disciplines, forming a coordinated development pattern of equipment manufacturing, electronic information, medicine and health, art and design and financial management. Three disciplines are financially supported by central government, including photovoltaic engineering technology, art design and central training base construction, while nursing and art design are listed as the provincial construction project of advanced disciplines and midwifery, computer application technology, accounting and automobile testing and maintenance technology being listed as the special disciplines construction projects of the 13th Five-Year Plan in Zhejiang province.

The school currently has over 6200 full-time students on campus and 402 faculty members, including 263 full-time teachers, 99 professors, associate professors and other senior professional and technical personnel, 190 teachers with master’s or higher degree, two provincial excellent teachers, forming an energetic and high-qualified teaching group with a reasonable structure.

QCT has won the first prize of Zhejiang teaching achievement award. Teachers have presided over a National Social Science Fund project, two Humanities and Social Sciences Research and Planning Fund projects of Ministry of Education, a key research topic of Ministry of Education of the 13th Five-Year Plan in national educational science and 24 provincial and ministerial level projects. It has also authorized 565 patents, built five provincial level courses, two provincial online courses, set up six provincial construction projects of new form textbook, and edited 13 provincial key textbooks planned by Ministry of Education.

The school is actively promoting the construction of productive training bases inside and outside the school. The construction of mechanical manufacturing and automation training base was supported by the central finance. The nursing training base is a provincial demonstration training base and there are more than 170 training bases outside the school. QCT has been encouraging students to participate in high-level academic (skills) competitions in order to improve their innovative entrepreneurial ability. Students have won 352 prizes in national and provincial competitions, including 38 first prizes since 2015. The school has brought in a number of characteristic sports such as ground ball, aerobics and climbing, and has won more than 20 gold medals in national championships. The employment rate of the school has been rising stably in the recent five years, the first employment rate reached 95 percent and the level of employment is increasing year by year.
