An exhibition of paintings and calligraphy works took place at the Painting Academy of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 26, according to local media reports.

The exhibition was held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, or CPPCC, and review its development process.

The exhibition is showcasing 50 paintings, calligraphy works and seal carvings involving characters, natural landscapes, flowers, birds, regular script, and cursive handwriting.

The exhibition was sponsored by the Quzhou municipal committee of the CPPCC and organized by its Society of Poets, Calligraphers, and Painters. It will run until Oct 27.
