Kecheng district in Quzhou, the city in East China's Zhejiang province, received a dividend from Yuhang district in Hangzhou – also in Zhejiang province – for a total of 15 million yuan ($2.3 million) on Sept 17 to help the poor there, according to local officials.

They said that Yuhang and Kecheng are pairing-assistance districts in Zhejiang.

In November last year, Yuhang and Kecheng began to implement a project involving a total of  32.8 million yuan ($4.9 million) in poverty alleviation funds and the granting of shares to 86 underdeveloped villages, to purchase 3,609 square meters of property in Kechuang Park in Quzhou.

"In addition, we also implemented the revenue reinvestment project and invested more than 7 million yuan in the high-quality property economy in Kecheng district," said the head of the district's economic and technological cooperation center. "The secondary income has fed 86 less developed villages."
