A comprehensive credit index of China's 261 prefecture-level cities was released recently by the State Information Center and Quzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province –  ranked first on the list, according to local media reports on Dec 7.

In addition, in 2021 Quzhou made the list of the third batch of demonstration zones for excellent social credit system development in China, with the total score for credit and evaluation ranked third in the country.

The city was also recognized in the field of SMEs, or small and medium-sized enterprises, getting the title "China's SMEs Financing Service Credit Demonstration Platform" in 2021.

In recent years, the city has established more than 200 credit management and service systems – including those for credit commitments, credit evaluations, classification management and credit rewards and punishment – and has reportedly built out a system that covers all types of credit subjects and all kinds of links to administrative management.
