Quzhou explores ways to develop future villages
Quzhou has recently been exploring ways to carry out the construction of "future villages", a program launched by Zhejiang province to help villages better develop their economy, living environment and spirit.
In the past four years, Tuanshi village in Xiaonanhai town, Longyou county, has experienced rapid development. By taking advantage of its mountains and rivers, the village has developed rural tourism and a nighttime economy featuring rural homestays, water surfing and night fairs.

"This year's country music festival attracted 200,000 visitors, helping Tuanshi village and the surrounding villages of Hongchuantou and Tingtangwei earn more than 12 million yuan ($1.68 million)," said Wang Chunmao, Party chief of Tuanshi village.
In Fengshi future village, Xiakou town, Jiangshan city, various facilities such as a home care service center, home for the disabled and express stations were established to make life more convenient for villagers via science and technology.
According to official data, in the past two years, the average annual growth rate in the per capita disposable income of residents in the 33 future villages under construction in Quzhou exceeded 11 percent, and the average annual growth rate of the village's collective operating income was over 40 percent.
