Quzhou designated national green travel city

Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province was recently designated a green travel city in China by the Ministry of Transport and the National Development and Reform Commission, local media reported on Jan 7.
To create a new environment for green travel, 5,840 new parking lots were added in the city, 18.4 kilometers of roads in the main urban area were built or reconstructed, 80 new energy buses were put into operation, and 11.7 km of bus lanes were built, an increase of nearly 33 percent.
To further improve public transportation, the city invested 130 million yuan ($19.18 million) in urban and rural passenger transport transformation. After this transformation, passenger transport shifts increased by 25 percent and passenger flow increased by 30 percent.
To improve the short and medium-distance travel experience, the city also introduced shared-electric bicycles. In April 2022, the first batch of 2,000 shared-electric bicycles was put into operation.
In addition, 78.7 km of greenways were built in the city to connect tourist attractions and make the city greener.
