Shuitingmen Historic and Cultural Block in Kecheng district, Quzhou, Zhejiang province was recently among the second group of national leisure tourism blocks, local media reported on Jan 18.

Leisure tourism blocks in the downtown area is required to integrate tourism, catering, entertainment, shopping, accommodation, leisure and entertainment.

Shuitingmen was once an important port of trade in Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces.

The block, covering an area of 100,000 square meters, is composed of three streets and seven alleys, and is home to 14 key national, provincial and municipal-level key cultural protection units and 59 historical buildings.

The block opened to the public in 2016. Over the past few years, a group of large-scale activities such as traditional lantern and temple fairs, city wall light shows and water light shows have been carried out in the block, attracting crowds of tourists and making it a popular destination in the city.
