Quzhou sees record foreign trade

Jiaxing's imports and exports were valued at 61.25 billion yuan ($9.01 billion) in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 24.3 percent, the second highest growth rate in Zhejiang province, according to Quzhou Customs.

The city's exports exceeded 40 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 40.19 billion yuan, an increase of 27.3 percent year-on-year, while imports were valued at 21.06 billion yuan, up 19 percent year-on-year.

In 2022, ASEAN became the city's largest trade partner, accounting for 20.7 percent of all the city's imports and exports, a year-on-year rise of 10.9 percent.

The city's exports to South Korea, the European Union and ASEAN reached 7.71 billion yuan, 5.44 billion yuan and 4.72 billion yuan, respectively, up 48.3 percent, 29.9 percent and 33.7 percent.

Imports from ASEAN and Democratic Republic of the Congo were 7.96 billion yuan and 3.89 billion yuan, surging 523.7 percent and 28.5 percent, respectively. Imports from Indonesia, a member of ASEAN, were valued at 7.12 billion yuan, up 16-fold, increasing the city’s export growth by 37.9 percentage points.

In addition, the city exported 1.81 billion yuan worth of goods through the customs cross-border e-commerce management platform, a surge of 220.2 percent.
