Many enterprises from Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has been taking the initiative to expand their markets overseas as China has actively optimized and refined its COVID-19 response, promoting the city's growth of foreign trade.

Data showed that from December 2022 to January 2023, 18 enterprises in the city expanded their markets overseas and received a total of 710 million yuan ($103.02 billion) worth of overseas orders.

In the future, the city will also give enterprises a variety of overseas exhibition subsidies. According to statistics, there will be 24 enterprises in the city obtaining orders from overseas in February and March.

From early December 2022 to Feb 17, Yu Junfeng, the head of Zhejiang Avionics Information Technology Co Ltd, went to the Middle East and Africa with his three team members to explore market expansion at a cost of $150,000, which has led to the company receiving orders worth 69.89 million yuan.

Lu Zhongjian, general manager of Quzhou Beneng Car Industry, brought back 35 million yuan worth of orders after a 34-day trip to Europe last year.

This spring, Lu also signed up for the 2023 American Motorcycle Show, which ran from Feb 15 to 17.

According to the latest data from Quzhou Customs, Quzhou's imports and exports in 2022 hit a new record high, reaching 61.25 billion yuan, an increase of 24.3 percent compared with 2021.

With the promotion of China's Belt and Road Initiative, the industrialization of Asian, African, and Latin American countries will increase the demand for goods made in China. As a result, trade opportunities in these regions will continue to increase, which means that export-oriented enterprises in Quzhou will have broader markets in the future that can help them better realize high-quality development and internationalization transformation.
