Quzhou's government report released

The 3rd plenary session of the 8th Municipal People's Congress of Quzhou commenced on Feb 26.

A total of 315 deputies to the municipal people's congress attended the meeting.

According to the government report delivered by Xu Zhangyan, mayor of Quzhou, the city saw stable increase in economic and social development in the past year.

For example, the city's GDP increased by 4.8 percent and surpassed 200 billion yuan ($28.72 billion), the second highest growth rate in Zhejiang province and the fastsest growth in 10 years.

Investment in industrial, manufacturing and high-tech sectors grew by 46.3 percent, 60.3 percent and 116.4 percent, respectively, the highest growth rates in the province.

In addition, the expected targets of the city's economic and social development this year were released during the conference.

GDP, fixed asset investment and retail sales of consumer goods are expected to grow by 7 percent, 15 percent and 5 percent, respectively.

The growth rates of urban and rural incomes are expected to be higher than that of GDP. General public budget revenue is expected to be in step with economic growth. The surveyed urban unemployment rate is expected to be kept under 5 percent.
