Gumie Archaeological Site Museum to be built in Quzhou
The design scheme for the Gumie Archaeological Site Museum was recently unveiled, local media reported on March 1.
Construction on the museum is expected to finish in 2027.
The museum will be located in Mengjiang future village in Yunxi township, Qujiang district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. It is the largest history museum currently under construction in the city.
In recent years, a number of cultural relics were unearthed from ancient tombs in Yunxi township, including jade wares, primitive porcelain and bronze wares.
Archaeological experts believe that Qujiang was likely the core area of Gumie, an ancient country during the Shang and Zhou dynasties (c.16th century-256 BC), while large mound tombs in Miaoshanjian and Mengjiang village were likely to be tombs of the country's kings.
