Digital mushroom greenhouses bring wealth to Quzhou farmers
A 302-mu (20.13-hectare) mushroom plantation including over 100 digital greenhouses in Xiaonanhai town, Longyou county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province is expected to generate 1 billion yuan ($143 million) in output in 2023.
To provide a suitable growing environment for the mushrooms, which are particularly sensitive to temperature and air, an automatic intelligent control system is installed in each greenhouse to monitor temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide and other indicators related to the mushroom growth environment in real time.
The watering of mushrooms and the opening and closing of the outer covering film of the greenhouses are able to be controlled by mobile phone, realizing continuous production and multi-harvesting in the greenhouses throughout the year.
The high-yield digital mushroom greenhouses have become a popular way to increase villages' collective incomes.
The mushroom plantation has brought in 5.5 million yuan in income to villages in the town and provided jobs for over 300 local residents.
