Xinjiang village in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has planted more than 20,000 cherry blossom trees, including 50 to 60 varieties, covering an area of over 150 mu (10 hectares), to increase the village's tourism industry.

Xinjiang village used to be a poor village with a collective annual income of less than 100,000 yuan ($14,354).

Through strong management, the village's collective operating income is expected to exceed 1 million yuan this year.

A mud pond in the village has been renovated and transformed into a landscape lake.

Since the beginning of this year, the village has received a large number of tourists every holiday, and revenue from cruise tickets has exceeded 2,000 yuan per day.

Due to its beautiful rural scenery and rising popularity, agritainment venues, restaurants, teahouses, winehouses, an oil painting academy, a gallery and a guqin have opened in the village, introducing new types of business.

In January, the village auctioned vacant collective housing with an annual rent of 210,000 yuan. The house is being renovated and will be transformed into a lakeside homestay integrating accommodation, wedding ceremonies and catering, which is expected to further increase the village's collective income.
