The spring tea "Wuniuzao" recently entered picking season on the Fengxi tea plantation in Jiangshan, a county-level city of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The Fengxi tea plantation has more than 500 mu (33.33 hectares) of tea trees. "Wuniuzao" is the first variety in Jiangshan to hit the market.

Due to last year's drought and early frost, the production of "Wuniuzao" at the plantation has decreased slightly this year, and dried tea can be sold at a price of 2,000 yuan ($290.12) per kilogram this year.

The tea plantation uses organic fertilizer such as rapeseed cake instead of chemical fertilizer to grow its tea trees. This kind of tea is of higher quality and has a purer fragrance, said Liu Linsheng, head of the plantation.

The plantation has received orders for 250 kg of tea, indicating promising sales prospects.

This year, the city's tea planting area reached 38,500 mu, and the output of spring tea is expected to reach 1,100 metric tons.
