Quzhou spring tea exported to overseas markets
A batch of spring tea worth $644,900 from Qujiang district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently exported overseas.
Tea leaves recently entered picking season in Quzhou. After airing, heating, rolling, drying and other processes, the first batch of spring tea recently hit the market.
As of March 15, four enterprises in the city, including Kaihua Baona Tea Co Ltd and Quzhou Pingshan Tea Co Ltd, exported 20.35 million yuan ($2.95 million) worth of tea to Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, a year-on-year growth of 78 percent, which can be attributed to factors such as a decrease in sea freight.
Based on the picking cycle, processing and production of spring tea, Quzhou Customs has been offering tailored assistance to tea enterprises.
It helps enterprises improve relevant systems, including the control of toxic and harmful substances, production and traceability records, disease and pest monitoring and environmental quality monitoring. Meanwhile, it tracks changes in international tea pesticide residue standards and tariff policies, informing tea enterprises of the latest demands in foreign markets and relevant technical trade measures, said Zhen Caixia, a Quzhou Customs official.
