Quzhou sees booming tourism market

Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province received 107,200 tourists from outside the city from March 18 to 19, during which concerts of famous Chinese singer Joker Xue were held at the city's Quzhou Sports Center.

A total of 64,800 tourists stayed overnight in the city during this period.

The city's main scenic spots received 40,200 visitors. The Temple of Southern Confucianism received 4,497 visitors, about 2,212 more than on normal weekends, while the Chinese Confucianism Academy received 6,025 visitors, an increase of 2,760.

The city's tourism revenue reached 124 million yuan ($18 million) over the two days, and consumption in related industries reached 690 million yuan.

The city's average hotel room occupancy rate was 77 percent, and the urban hotel average room occupancy rate exceeded 90 percent.

In addition, 23 activities, including performances and market fairs, were held in the city over the two days, attracting 132,500 visitors. Food sales at the market fair at the Quzhou Sports Center totaled 458,000 yuan over the two days.
