The Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Bureau recently released a list of 12 bird watching destinations in Zhejiang province, including Longyouhu in Quzhou.

The Longyouhu bird watching destination is located on the north shore of the Qujiang River in Longyou county.

More than 130 species of bird reside in Longyouhu. The best time to bird watch is from March to April and from September to October. Rare and endangered birds such as the Chinese merganser, rostratula benghalensis and osprey can be observed here.
