Technologies boost mushroom industry in Quzhou
The international flower mushroom base in Xiaonanhai town, Longyou county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province, is a leader in applying industrialization and digitization to modern agriculture.
The base has 106 smart greenhouses, each of which can harvest mushrooms 10 to 12 times a year, with an annual output of more than 50,000 kilograms of flower mushrooms. The price of each kilogram of flower mushrooms is more than 40 yuan ($5.74).
The base has received more than 100 million yuan in investment, and each mushroom greenhouse is equipped with hundreds of sensors that can monitor edible mushroom growth environment indicators such as temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration and light intensity.
Mou Shifeng, a woman from Tuanshi village who works at the base, said that she has a stable income of more than 5,000 yuan per month and receives free lunch. Most of the work at the base has been automated, which makes work relatively easy.
In 2022, the base provided 355 villagers with jobs and paid them 7.5 million yuan in wages.
